Walking Away

Tuesday, June 19th, 2007

Have you ever decided just to walk away from something?  Well, that’s what I did today.  Today I walked away from my job. Yep, that’s right.  After working at the same place for over 5 years, I decided that enough was enough, and that I was ready to go.  It had nothing to do with any specific incident, just a complete and thorough washing of the hands from the place.

I know that I have made the right decision.  Now, it is time to put up, or shut up.  It’s time to make money from home.  I have burned the bridges, it is time to move forward.

Stay tuned for more info.  I will share whatever I find that will allow me to make a living online.  And look for the monthly recap as well, where I will share what is working, and what isn’t.

Fall Garden Anyone?

Sunday, August 27th, 2006

It’s about that time of year again, depending on where you live, to start sprouting and planting that fall garden.  I’ve never done this before, but I am going to go for it this year, using a method called Square Foot Gardening.  If you’ve never heard about it, it’s pretty awesome.  You can grow enough veggies to feed a family of 4 on roughly an 8′ x 12′ plot of ground (96 square feet) vs. the normal garden of many many times that size.

I’ll have more on this in an upcoming post, where I will also review the book that is the inspiration for it all.  Suffice it to say that right now you need to be getting your seeds for spinache, lettuce, broccoli, carrots, cabbage, cauliflower, peas, beets, and radishes ready for sprouting!

Going Green

Tuesday, August 1st, 2006

Have you ever thought about the results of our use of electricity? Do you live in one of the many cities that experiences blackouts and brownouts on a regular basis these days?

Many people never give it a second thought. However, there are some simple things that we can do to cut back on our electrical useage from the power grid. Here is one simple suggestion. Do you have yard lighting? If you do, or if you are planning on implementing yard lights, do yourself a favor and go solar! You can get a variety of solar powered yard lights such as driveway lights, path lighting, house number lights, etc.:

Solar Lights

So, the next time you think about the lights outside at night, do us all a favor and go solar!
