OK, I just can’t do it!!! I MUST share this with you…

Saturday, May 20th, 2006

Here’s a cartoon I found at Mark Joyner’s new Atomic Mind Bomb blog … this one is absolutely priceless:

Visit Mark Joyner for more of his
personal development brain puzzle cartoons.

OK, so now go visit the site and read what Mark has to say about this phenomenon. This is exactly why I started this site … to provide REAL information that works, not things that I think might work. If you read it here, I’ve been there, done that. You will notice my blog is strangely missing in the “total hype” category. Did I actually figure out a way to get to the top in some search engines? Yes! Did I actually figure out a way to increase my traffic over 400% in just 90 days? Yes! Am I making a six-figure income yet on Internet marketing? NO! But when I do, you can be sure that I will share exactly what is working for me!

30 Day Hiatus

Wednesday, May 17th, 2006

Just a quick note to let any visitors know that I will be taking a 30 day hiatus on all current projects. I am doing this for two very specific reasons:

  1. I have a project that I want to finish in the next 30 days, to the exclusion of other products / projects I am working on. Yes, it is related to both the SEO report, traffic techniques, and the free software as well. Come back in 30 for more details … ;-)
  2. I am currently evaluating a program that is supposed to get someone up and running from scratch to about $500 a month in just 30 days. In order to be fair about it, I am willing to give it 100% effort to see what can really be achieved. At the end of the 30 days I will give you a report on the product and project … either a rave review (w/ obligatory affiliate link ;-) ) or a critical edictment. We shall see…

So, that’s it for now. Visit the blogroll to get some great ideas from other excellent Internet marketers, and I’ll see you on the flip side!

How I Took #1 On Yahoo and MSN (And Why Google Doesn’t Matter!)

Tuesday, May 16th, 2006

OK, maybe it’s a bit much to say that Google doesn’t matter. But let me get out the facts, and then you might just agree.

Last June/July I developed an idea for a niche website revolving around something that I am genuinely interested in. Of course, being online for many years now, I realized that just because I built a website didn’t mean that people would come and see it. So, I did research, research, and more research. Then I stumbled upon the REAL information that made a difference in the search engine rankings. Once I implemented these techniques, I skyrocketed to the #1 spot on MSN … to be followed by Yahoo. This happened within just a few weeks … not months like I was expecting. As of today, I just took some more screen shots … and I still hold #1 for the targeted keywords. In fact, on MSN, my site (and blog) come up as #1, #2, AND #3 position for one of my critical search terms.

So what about Google? Well, have you ever heard of the sandbox? No? I hadn’t either, until I started researching this whole SEO thing. Once I installed the Google toolbar with the PR (page rank) indicator, then it began to make sense. See, all sites are ranked by Google based on a number of factors, one of which is back-links. Great and dandy. I had no back links (keep that in mind when you think about the positions I achieved in MSN and Yahoo). So I developed a plan to gain back links. It began to work, but still no PR on Google. Well, I decided that Google only has about 45% of the market share, and another 45% go to Yahoo and MSN. So if I can place well with Yahoo and MSN, I can still generate a ton of free traffic. And, if Google ever gets on board, then I’m really golden!

So where’s Google at today? Well, at this point I have literally hundreds of back-links to my site. Some are embedded text links, some are plain text links, some are just referral links. (How I got so many links in a few short months is another secret I’ll pass on later). Lo and behold, as of their last update just last month, my site is finally out of the sandbox! While I’m not placing in the top 10 yet for the key words I targeted, I do have a PR4 just coming out of the box! I am starting to get some traffic from Google, and will be able to analyze it soon to see where I need to tweak my site to land a major placing with them. But for now, they really don’t matter!

So how did I accomplish all of this? How did I optimize my website and where did I submit it to make this all happen? What about all those back links? How did I manage that for free?

Well, stay tuned (RSS and email updates are available ;-) and I’ll get you in on what is the biggest up-and-coming secret in Internet marketing! In fact, not many “gurus” are even sharing this one … maybe it’s because they don’t even know it! Until next time…

Who is Sterling Valentine?

Monday, May 15th, 2006

Well, I had never heard of him before tonight! I got an e-mail from Mike Filsaime this afternoon promoting a live webinar / teleconference that took place just a few hours ago. The call was actually hosted by Mark Joyner and was for his Simpleology members. As it ends up, Sterling Valentine (who knows if that is his real name) is pretty much a regular Joe who has done some very interesting research, grabbing the attention of some big-wigs in the Internet marketing field.

Over the course of the past few months, Sterling basically set out to interview the top Internet marketers on the planet. He managed to get 50 (quite impressive in itself) and amassed a wealth of information while he was at it. Obviously, material of this nature yields itself rather nicely into a e-product package which will be marketed for a huge sum of money. Of course, this will take place not only by Sterling, but also through the joint venture partnerships he has developed while conducting these interviews. Needless to say, it should be a smash hit.

Well, the call tonight focused on three key words that came up during the interview process. Sterling had all of the transcripts analyzed for keyword density, and found three things that are key in the success (based on his interview question and answer sessions) of the top 50 Internet marketers. What are the 3 keys that he discovered? Well, I can’t tell you. We were sworn to secrecy (see there, that’s what you get for not being on my list!). Suffice it to say, all three will probably be addressed, if not revealed directly, in the upcoming release of the JV Formula product.

If you would like more info on Sterling Valentine and his JV Formula product launch, you can visit his blog at http://jvformula.com/blog.

Stay tuned to my blog (feel free to subscribe to the RSS or e-mail updates … hint, hint) for the latest and greatest … as well as a super bonus coming for subscribing to my newsletter! Until next time …

To Vid or Not to Vid

Tuesday, May 2nd, 2006

Video marketing … online. The next big thing? Or too soon to tell? Well, according to Jim Edward’s “I Gotta Tell You” blog, he feels like it will be the next big Internet gold rush. This is one of the guys that I subscribe to, simply because of two things:

  1. He keeps it real - hey, this guy was down-and-out, living in a trailer park for cryin’ out loud!
  2. He’s turned his life around and is a major player in the Internet marketing arena. Very impressive.

So what’s my take on it? Well, he has some great points that he makes on the article, so I’ll let you read them for yourself. I agree that video has some potential for the future … but I think the wide-open field is right in front of your eyes!

Blogging and RSS marketing is just in its infancy stages … and there is much more under this iceberg than what we are seeing today. In addition, before we move to vidcasting and marketing through that medium, there is a TON of opportunity still untapped in the podcasting audio marketing arena. Pheedo is just getting started, and there are other feed services starting to take hold, as well as podcast advertising platforms. So, don’t cast the baby out with the bathwater just yet! Video advertising may have a place in the near future, but right NOW the golden opportunity for Internet marketing lies with blog marketing and RSS marketing!

That’s my two cents worth.

So what is Blog Marketing?

Monday, May 1st, 2006

As weblogs (or blogs as they are more affectionately known) become mainstream in the Internet scene, the term ‘blog marketing’ is beginning to surface and be thrown about. Realizing the potential of yet another trendy medium of information, marketers worldwide are scrambling to see exactly what money is to be made from blog writing, or blogging. From amatuer journalists hoping to get the next big break, to someone who is away from home trying to stay in touch with family and friends - it seems everyone these days is getting into blogging.

So where does marketing come to play in blogging? Quite simple … people visit your blog for information. You give it to them … in content, as well as advertising. Just think of a blog as an online newspaper of sorts. It’s independently published by you, of course, but it has many similarities to a newstand publication. One of the things most people don’t realize about publications these days is this: most of them rely on advertising as their main source of income! Of course, advertising only works if you have readers … but that’s a topic for another article.

So, in a nutshell, by using such techniques as RSS, blog-and-ping, etc., a marketer is able to do several things that are crucial to any marketing effort, whether it be offline or online:

  1. Bring traffic to a website using free methods
  2. Target a specific market, and cater advertising specific to their needs
  3. Convert visitors into sales

Through the use of one of the newest and most personalized communications mediums to come along since the Citizen’s Band radio, bloggers worldwide are being thrust into the limelight, finding readerships around the globe. Saavy Internet marketers are quickly becoming some of the first adopters of this technology as a business model. Those who are really in the know, technologically speaking, are utilizing blogging to drive traffic and product sales. This is blog marketing!
