How to Build YOUR List

Saturday, April 29th, 2006

List Builder Mentor SystemOK, so here goes nothing! A few weeks ago I promised to review some of the products that I have recently aquired. This particular product deals with the concept of building a list online that you can market to, over and over again.

I must admit, I’ve done a great deal of reading about how to build a list - but, alas, I have yet to heed the advice of those promoting the various methods. Now that I’ve read Liz Tomey’s List Builder Mentor System, I can’t help but get excited about the possibilities. I know that “the money is in the list“. If you haven’t heard that one yet, then you haven’t been around marketing very long. Even outside of Internet Marketing it’s true.

This e-book comes with FULL master re-sell rights. It will take you from the beginning, all the way through building your list. It’s a great tool that I am using personally, and that I can whole-heartedly recommend to anyone interested in building a list.

Where’s the Beef?

Tuesday, April 11th, 2006

Anyone remember that old Wendy’s commercial where the old lady says “where’s the beef?” when she tries one of the competitor’s burgers? Sometimes that’s what I feel like saying when I’m reading the sales letter for yet another internet marketing e-book or software package. Better yet, try buying one of these so-called ‘guru’ packages! Then you will really be asking “where’s the beef?”

I’ve recently purchased a couple of internet marketing “how-to” e-books (which also came with the compulsory complimentory software/e-book/private members forum/fill-in-the-blank-here/etc.). So hold on to your hat’s and buckle up … it’s going to be a bumpy ride over the next few weeks or so as I review these programs, pick them apart, and let you know what I think.

In addition, keep a look out. I will be giving you my insider’s source for search engine optimization information. It’s available for free, so you don’t want to miss this one. These are the techniques that allowed me to take my niche tech site from nowhere-on-the-radar to top 5 ranking on MSN in under a week! After months of hard work, once this site left the sandbox, Google is giving it a PR (page rank, for the un-initiated) of 4. I’m sure it helped that I have over 250 back-links, with very few links going out of my site. I did this for free also, btw. I’ll share that technique with you on another day …

I’ve got a lot of information to share … and hopefully it will be useful to you. Drop me a line and let me know what you think!

Out of the Sandbox

Saturday, April 8th, 2006

I can hardly contain myself! If you’ve ever had a website that has been in Google’s “sandbox” for a period of time, then you know what it’s like to wait, and wait, and wait … all for that magic page rank from the Google gods.

Well, a site that I launched last July has finally come out of the “sandbox”! Of course, the sandbox doesn’t officially exist, but anyone who has launched a site and submitted to Google will understand. After all, it only takes MSN a few days, Yahoo a few weeks, at the most, to index and list your site on their search engines. Google, on the other hand, can take forever … ok, not really, just seems like it.

This site in particular is in a niche market, but a fairly competetive one. I’m ranking in the top 1 or 2 spots on MSN for my keywords, 2 to 5 on Yahoo!, but still not ranked on Google. Perhaps a little more time … I have almost 200 backlinks into my site at this point, and some from sites with pretty high PR (as high as 5). So, we shall see … perhaps the links will take a while to catch up on Google. So where did I end up? I think we did pretty good on this one … it’s hit a PR of 4 coming out of the ‘box. My other site (the blog I’ve mentioned in a previous case study) has also seen an increase in PR at Google, up from a PR of 2 to a PR of 3.

Soooo … now I’m off to do some research, since apparently Google has just completed an update. I’ll report back as soon as I find out all the juicy details …
